This time of year is synonymous with fresh starts, clean slates and organization. With the very best intentions we push against the unraveling that happens over time and evitable disequilibrium. I find my mind is clear and content when organized. And take great pleasure in pursuing order and perusing others’ efforts. Sometimes much more of the later…

As summer stretches into the horizon the blush of the season beckons even more. The new pastels, including Rosé feel very current and fresh. It lacks the brown quality of decades old mauve. For some pink is reviled and intolerable. It is a token of a bygone era and symbol of conforming to oppressive ideas. To me it is absolute sunshine. Choosing to embrace it today for the same reason many of my older colleagues previously rejected it. We are seeking modern and opening new worlds. What we want to see is something different, something imbued with the character of life itself.

I am in love with Stella McCartney’s whimsical Spring Collection. In the spirit of love and season I was inspired to create this table scene.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Setting a table for those you love is a fun way to celebrate your Valentine(s). And staying in surrounded only by your closest sweethearts beats swimming in crowds celebrating young love. The flowers are from Roots, SLC Utah and the arrows are from Fletcher and Fox.
